Local-First Tools

Why keeping documents on-device can reduce account friction for simple work apps.

Many work apps ask for an account before a user has saved a single note. For simple document tools, that friction is often unnecessary.

A local-first V1.0 can still be professional: structured forms, PDF export, and optional backup files — without requiring cloud sync on day one. Users keep control of their records, and privacy pages can describe a shorter, clearer data story.

Quick Work Report follows this approach: documents stay on the device unless the user chooses to share or export a backup.
